BIOGRAPHY
Alex Mitchakes has been teaching private music lessons for the last twelve years with experience in teaching blues, jazz, country, rock n’ roll, acoustic fingerpicking, funk, songwriting, and music theory. Being a Dallas local, he attended Richardson High School in Richardson, Texas. He studied classical music extensively for four years under the prestigious direction of Scott Taylor the President of the American Bandmaster’s Association He holds an Associate’s Degree in Commercial Music, focusing in Audio Engineering from Collin College.
Mr. Mitchakes’ journey with the electric guitar began in 2003 at the age of thirteen, when he began taking private music lessons at Fiddle and Bow Music Company in Dallas, Texas. His teaching career began by 2005. From 2011 to 2017, Mr. Mitchakes was a private music instructor at the Parish Episcopal School of Dallas.
Asides from teaching private music lessons, Mr. Mitchakes is a professional musician whose talents extend from live performance to recording session work. In 2015 alongside his partners Kenny Kranzow and Anthony Abston, Mr. Mitchakes completed construction on the thousand square foot Studio A recording studio facility of Reddotte Studios in Richardson, TX. As a session guitarist on call at Reddotte Studios, Mr. Mitchakes has had the pleasure of working with many artists in genres as wide ranging as country music to modern hip hop.
Mr. Mitchakes is a proud Eagle Scout of Troop 751 in Richardson, Texas. Mr. Mitchakes isn’t just an active guitarist who plays and records professionally in Dallas, but he also holds a deep, personal commitment and passion for teaching and training other musicians to excel in their talents. He uses many of his skills he learned from his scouting experience while he teaches, and he understands that the critical development of young children is of vital importance in any learning environment.
